We want to bring People and their communities closer together through the power of music and the arts. Muw Shed is a new community venue based right in the heart of Bath, inspired by the city it calls home and the people that do too.

Brought to you by the team at local music charity Music Workshop, our ambition is to create safe, creative spaces where people can thrive in the belonging that exists in participating in the arts. Muw Shed embraces all forms of creativity and community engagement. We will be working closely with local arts providers, community music groups, local educational institutions and professional creatives. Muw Shed will be a multi-function space for activities such as group music making workshops, live performances, choir groups, book readings, sound recording and music tech. It will be a place for personal study or safe retreat. Somewhere to meet friends or plan ideas. It will also include a beautiful cafe and social space.

We realise that music and the arts isn't always accessible to many, for a multitude of economic, social, and environmental factors. We guarantee a minimum number of our spaces (determined by assessment of national poverty statistics) will always be reserved for those who might otherwise not be able to take part. We also produce a variety of free performance opportunities for all our members.

Positive community spaces are vital components of society that allow people to develop relationships, connect with wider demographics, and take part in enjoyable shared activities. These spaces provide a hub where we can work together to support those who need it, empower those voices which may otherwise not be heard, and bring light to, or sanctuary from, those corners most dark.

We believe these arts spaces are essential to developing stronger, more galvanised communities... We believe these spaces are too few and far between... We believe Muw Shed can be a space where people of any kind can feel comfortable expressing themselves creatively.

We have been blown away by the depth and breadth of support we have been shown so far and we hope this fundraising campaign will help us to realise our vision as we have dreamt it.
