Story

I am Muzammil Adam and this is my story...

Born in 1996 in the middle of one of the most dangerous cities in the world; Karachi. Spent my early childhood in Kenya before moving to London in the UK.

I was always a quiet child who enjoyed his own company from young; found it hard to make friends, as I was socially awkward. I have always been a competitive person in general in everything I done especially games and competitive sports like football, cricket and athletics.I was always a bright smart child with good grades, which hardly played a sport to a competitive level.

My parents had always been strict on me and always kept an eye on me and who I went out with; one day I used boxing as an excuse to leave the house and go out with my friends and got away with it and carried on using that excuse until one day I actually went to boxing and love it to bits.

I trained 9 months before I was able to get my amateur boxing licence and had my first boxing fight 3 days after my 16th birthday which I won with a 2nd round RTD. Onwards from there I carried on training hard and carried on my amateur career which included me travelling all around the country to box weight the best boxers in my weight category, I also got flown to Poland for a boxing fight where I won.

I wear glasses and have very poor eyesight and it affected my performance and a big impact on the medical test as I failed my renewal licence after having 19 amateur fights. Ever since I have been told I’m not allowed to ever box in amateurs again due to my eyesight… that didn’t stop me from carrying on boxing as I found couple of boxing organisations which was unlicensed shows who allowed me to fight. My first semi pro fight was for the British lightweight title where the opponent had knocked out all of his previous opponents while being 7 years older. I lost that fight on a point decision taking him the whole 6 rounds; most of the audience thought I should have been classed the winner but nevertheless I became a lot smarter after that fight. i had another 2 fights with this organisation where i become the London UKBU (UNITED KINGDOM BOXING UNION) featherweight champion at the O2 indigo arena, not shortly after i had been given the oppurtunity by another organisation to fly out to malta to compete against one of the best boxer on the island where i took him distance and many thought i had won but as it being his home soil he had been given the decision, nevertheless i carried on training and got myself another fight on the home show of this organisation in gillingham priestfeild football stadium where i fought for the GGBU (GREAT BRITAIN BOXING UNION) lightweight international title and won with a 4th round tko, then went onto to defend the title against a repalcement oponent who was almost a stone heavier and successfully defended my title with a 3rd round stoppage, i am still defending this title and are welcoming challengers with open arms.

i am now still boxing and am training harder than ever! I will get to my end goal! Hard work will get you anything your heart desires! I am currently saving up for laser eye treatment so I can sort my eyesight out and make my way to the pro rankings and truly show off my skill, ferocity and heart!

but this is becoming quite hard as i am also working all the time having to provide for my family and paying bills month after month, a very very small amount is being saved each month towards the target goal and at this rate il be too old to box by the time i have saved enough by myself which is why i need your guys help... i need to get my lasor eye sugery done which will cost around £1,695 per eye; treatment will be done by optimax in reading... the rest of the money will be put towards my proffessional boxing licence where i can start my ultimate goal of becoming a professional champion in the future amongst the greats!

anything that is donated for this cause will be highly appreciated and will not be forgotten! if the target is reached and i am able to get my goal achieved i will be taking pictures of the surgery and posting them up so you guys can follow the journey to the top!

Obstacles are merely an excuse.it is those who are successful who take steps towards their goals day by day. I will always be a step closer to my goal than I was the day before. - Muzammil Adam
