Disability support

Story

I am a 24-year-old woman with Cerebral Palsy, FND, Tourette's, and many other associated complications such as dystonia, meaning I need full-time care from either my family caregivers, or a care assistant. You may remember me last year fundraising for the completion of my Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award and respite care. This year, I am fundraising to go to a camp for people with disabilities and to go on some respite trips with one of my caregivers. Unfortunately, I do not receive any respite funding from my local 0-25 Team, as they say this is not essential and the respite that they did offer me, doesn't offer me the social stimulation I need for someone with full mental capacity but with physical disabilities, and results in my mental health declining. Due to this, I choose not to let my disability stop me and choose to fundraise for appropriate respite, as I feel like I shouldn't live my life as if I am a pricetag. Please help me to reach my fundraising goals to attend respite in August 2024. Thank you :) <3
