I'm raising £1500 to to help Myanmar recover from the earthquake

(02/04: We upped our target because the response has been amazing!)
We're raising money to help Myanmar recover from the awful earthquake that happened on Friday 28 March.
"We" here is Mandy, Chiara, Dave & Jen - we've teamed up to launch this page because we all lived and worked there and the country means a lot to us all. The picture above was taken by Dave in Mandalay, one of the places that has been badly hit by the earthquake.
Myanmar is a wonderful place that has had a really rough few years (on top of a rough few decades) - most recently, Covid, the coup, a civil war, and now this.
The damage from the quake is almost unthinkable. Thousands are thought to be injured, missing, and dead, with hospitals overwhelmed and rescue teams digging for survivors with their bare hands while facing aftershocks, water and electricity shortages, and extreme heat.
Even before the earthquake, the situation for many people in Myanmar was desperate, with around a quarter of its population close to starving at the end of last year.
We know there are lots of terrible things happening in the world at the moment. But Myanmar is important to us all and we know people there, and their families. Any donations would help.
We haven't chosen which appeal/charity to donate to yet because we realise some people are worried about where the money will end up. We will try to make sure it goes to the organisation best placed to help the most people on the ground, and we'll keep you updated.
Thank you and see the legal fluff below.
