I am teaming up with 'Mykonos Animal Welfare', an organisation that focuses on rescuing animals on the island. Together, we strive to combat and resolve the increasingly amount of stray animals.

'Mykonos Animal Welfare' is a legal charity, started in 2005. They focus on sterilising, emergency vet care and rehoming of abandoned cats and dogs.
Being a local on the island, I feel it is my duty to help solve this problem. It breaks my heart seeing many animals killed on the side of the road, neglected and left to die. It becomes the 'norm' of life on the island. But this stops now. Through your efforts and donations this can be resolved as 'Mykonos Animal Welfare' has full support of the Town Hall and the Mayor Konstantinos Koukas who are financing a program that covers many sterilizations and medical expenses. Moreover, in the near future, with your help, we will be able to convince the mayor to provide a legal no-kill shelter.

I have rescued a number of animals over the years, including my dog,'Rocky', who was found in the mountains and abandoned at the local Pet Shop, waiting for anyone to have the heart to take him home. That was me. Since then, he has become such an integral part of our family and can't imagine life without him. This has prompted me to become more active and through all our efforts raise awareness and give more animals, like 'Rocky', a chance at a loving home.
