We are trying to raise money to help pay for our pet dog Mylo's ongoing treatment for a rare condition called immune-mediated haemolytic anemia (IMHA). It is a disease where his immune system destroys its own red blood cells, he also has non-regenerative anemia which is a decrease in red blood cells where the bone marrow is not responding to produce the baby red blood cells needed and is very life threatening unless treated.

Two weeks ago Mylo was rushed into the Queen Mother Hospital for small animals in Potters Bar, in critical condition. He needed emergency treatment which included a blood transfusion as his PCV count was down to 9 where it should be around 38. He had to undergo numerous tests including ultrasound, x-rays, biopsy of his bone marrow, constant i.v fluid and numerous medications. He had to stay in hospital for a week to be monitored very closely. When discharged from the hospital he was referred back to his local vets and is having to have blood tests (PCV) on a weekly basis to monitor his red blood cell count, he is prescribed a high dose of steroids, medication to suppress his immune system and medication to protect his stomach from ulcers. Mylo's medical bill so far is in excess of £4000 in the space of just 2 weeks.

We have now exceeded our insurance policy and we are looking to try and fund the next steps for his road to recovery as we have hit a financial brick wall as our income simply does not cover these future costs.

Mylo is a very much loved family dog and we will do everything and anything to help him fight this awful disease, he is a fighter.
