Mylo has a lump on his neck which needs to be surgically removed and investigated. He has had the lump for a couple of years and the vets have monitored it, however it has recently started to grow.

Due to the lumps size it is now very close to a major artery (Carotid artery). If the lump continues to grow there is a high chance of it pressing down onto the artery and restricting blood flow to his brain therefore we need to have it removed as soon as possible. A pre-op CT scan is required so the veterinary surgeons can see what they’re dealing with and understand how close it is to the artery.

The cost of the CT scan, procedure, treatment and aftercare is unfortunately more than we can manage on our own. Our insurance will contribute towards the cost however due to Mylo being a senior dog there is a £5000 limit on the policy, we also have to pay an excess fee + meet 20% of the total vet bill.

The vets have quoted for the procedure:

- CT scan: £1800 - £2000 incl sedation / a days hospitalisation etc.

- The procedure: £5000 - £6000 depending on intricacies identified from the CT scan and as identified during the procedure.

- Aftercare incl pain relief, medication and check-ups £400-£600.

-Biopsy on the removed mass: £65.
