My name is Naomi. This fund is for my mum, whom I love very much and want only the best for after all that she's been through.

My mum is such a kind person, I've never met anyone as patient and determined as her. She's helped so many people in the community, and is a friend who is always there for everybody. She's a wonderful person, and I couldn't have asked for a mum any better.

Before I was born, she was married and had two sons. During this she went through some horrible abuse, and when she finally got the chance she left and had to restart as a single parent in a rental.

Me, my two brothers and my mum lived in a good rental together for 10 years. We were often low on money as my mum is self-employed as an interior decorator and painter, and it was difficult to get a good income and pay the rent. But my mum is the strongest person (mentally) I know, and she never ever gave up.

A couple of years ago she met someone who she fell in love with and after just a year, my mum and I moved into his house, and my two brothers moved into a flat together. We gave almost everything that was ours away; an awful lot of our furniture, our home, our stability, and trusted and gave our life into someone else's hands. We were more well off and didn't need to worry as much about money, and we had the lucky chance to have good holidays and enjoy ourselves. Everything was good, but there were ups and downs along the way and I could feel things getting worse and worse between my mum and him.

The relationship didn't work out. It turned out mentally abusive for my mum, and every day I felt her becoming more and more broken, and I couldn't let it go on any longer. We had to go, even though we both knew we had little money, and at the time, nowhere to go.

And that brings me to now. A rental has come up and we are moving in soon, but we don't have a lot of income and can barely afford the rent. The house needs doing up to make it feel like home, and the kitchen is extremely old and falling apart, the bedrooms don't feel homely and I know that my mum deserves so much more than this after everything. Raising money to help us get started again would mean so much to my whole family. In fact, just the money for a new kitchen to make it feel like home would be wonderful. My mum also wants to take a course on her interior decorating, which, if she passes, (I know she would, she's amazing at it), she becomes a professional which looks even better for clients. It could earn us more money too. But it's expensive, about £1000, and it would mean everything to her if she could do it.
