    Story

My 24-year-old sister needs angels like you to help her fight the battle of her life.

Last September 2017, my only sister, Myla, had a recurrence of her previous condition and was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma cancer , which attacks the body’s lymph nodes and rapidly spreads the cancer through the bloodstream. She needs to undergo treatment again for this recurrence. And we are determined to fight again!

We are about to celebrate as she became cancer-free for 4 years until now... sadly things got worse.

The average post-diagnosis survival term for a lymphoma cancer patient is two years.

But my sister, a spirited young woman with a passion for life, is determined to beat the odds. Despite her condition, she has remained the vibrant, outgoing, extremely positive and uplifting person she has been throughout her young life.

I would like to appeal to your generous spirit in giving Myla the hope, encouragement and support she needs to fight this uphill battle. My sister had her last treatment the other day. Myla greatly needs benefactors like you to help cover her medical expenses, which have been adding up since her cancer diagnosis.

I have been working doubly hard and doing my best in London to finance my sister’s medical expenses and to support my family in Philippines. My mother has stopped working to take care of my sister and my father’s income as a driver is hardly enough to meet living, let alone, medical expenses.

My sister’s battle has become my battle. It is my greatest hope in life to give this absolutely beautiful young woman a chance to live out her dreams and to continue touching people with her warm spirit and luminous presence.

Living in London the past 10 years, I myself have dedicated my life to serving the Filipino community here, as a volunteer event host, photographer and volunteer tutor to the domestic workers, lending my humble talents to our growing community’s projects and events in the UK. I make this appeal on behalf of my sister in the same spirit of solidarity and community that has made me welcome and lovingly embraced here.

Any amount you can share with Myla would be a great encouragement to her and to our family. Your kindness and generosity would forever be appreciated and remembered by me, my parents and siblings, and, of course, by our beautiful Myla.

On the 16th and 26th of March, it will be our birthday and it is my wish to see her smiling and not experiencing any pain...

Our paths may change as life goes along, but the bond between us remains ever strong. I love her so much and I will do everything to ease the pain...

I have used my resources but still it is not enough. Medical issues in the Philippines is very expensive. I hope you can share this to your friends and to those who you think might be of help but please make it discreet, My sister doesn’t want to know about this situation from the public as she doesn’t want others to be disturbed again, so I am respecting her on her decision. I know I promised my sister that I will not disclose this to others. But I have no choice but do it because I am willing to do everything for her to be OK and not to experience pain anymore.

Being brother & sister means being there for each other.

Please send me your email and home address, I will be sending a small gift through my lens to remember your generous support.

    WHAT IS LYMPHOMA?

Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system. Like other types of cancer, lymphoma is a disease of the body’s cells. The body is made up of cells that need to be replaced as they age or are damaged. This happens through cell division, which is when a cell divides and makes a new copy of itself.

Any help or donation, no matter how small, will be deeply appreciated and is much needed.
