Story
As a team My Space are taking part in Muddy Maniacs on 22nd October 2016 to raise funds for 2 local organisations, Kidz2gether and Rumworth School.
We have chosen these organisations as they offer a great deal of support to one of our team, and her son Daniel.
Daniel was born prematurely at 31 weeks 6 days, he was one of two surviving triplets. Sadly, Daniel's brother Alex passed away at 5 days old, his brother Jack was still born. Daniel weighed 2lb 12oz when he was born and had a placentral bleed on the brain which was expected to heal.
As a baby Daniel did not reach his expected milestones and at 5 years old an MRI scan showed that the bleed had not healed. Daniel continued to struggle as he started school and at 8 years old he was diagnosed with autism, ADHD and learning difficulties. Despite this, Daniel attended mainstream primary school and managed with extra support in place.
Daniel is now 13 and attends Rumworth High School. Rumworth is a specialist school for children aged 11-19 with various disabilities. Daniel loves going to school and is really settled here.
Rumworth are currently fundraising for a hydrotherapy pool and we would love your help to support them with their efforts.
Outside of school Daniel attends various groups and clubs which are run by Kidz2gether, a local voluntary group which supports individuals with social/communication disorders age 0-25, and their families. Daniel's favourite group is arts and crafts. Kidz2gether rely on donations to fund their services and allow them to continue to offer vital support to local families.
Daniel is a lovely, lively boy and loves to visit My Space and see all the team, we hope that you will support us to raise as much money as possible for these fantastic organisations!
