Story

In July 2018, I will be volunteering with Vesa and travelling to South Africa to work on a variety of projects.

I will be in the South Africa for two weeks and during this time will volunteer to help build houses and classrooms to improve the living conditions for people living in the local Khula village. I will also be helping to construct bathrooms and kitchens in a school orphanage, as well as building sustainable farming units to allow single mothers and members of the community to earn enough to secure an income and feed their families.

After this, I'll be visiting a local primary school and creche and helping to teach English amongst other living skills through fun games and activities. During the second week I'll travel around further parts of South Africa to assist with the National Parks Authority. Here I'll support with the observation, population monitoring, and capture and release of Crocodiles and various African Wild Cats.

This is an experience I have wanted to do for a long time, and can't wait to make a difference to the communities living in South Africa. Vesa is a fantastic organisation and they give so much to help these people live a better life. I am already saving some money towards the other two-thirds of the trip which includes flights etc. Any money you can donate will greatly appreciated and I know will make a huge difference to the people living there!

Thank you, Nicola x
