Story

My sister's story

On the 6th of June after hearing our Dad had terminal throat cancer, we had some more bad news.. my sister found out she had a brain tumor.

She had been suffering headaches for months and after being told she was just stressed and tired and being prescribed an opiate drug (when she has 2 young children to look after) by her doctor over the phone she had had enough.

After around 7 months of persistent headaches and then the scary disruption to her vision and eyelid drooping a new doctor put her forward for an MRI scan and this brings us up to today.

My sister was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor the size of an orange. After a few nervous days we found out that is was benign and treatable, we were so relieved but our family didn't realize the repercussions of this diagnosis.

My sister can no longer drive, work, or do many of her everyday activities due to the high risk of seizures until her operation date (still pending) and this is in place for at least 6 months after her surgery too. Statutory sick pay can only offer her £50,00 a week, not enough to feed her 2 small children and keep the bills paid. We have tried looking for financial support and will continue to do so but due to the fact her tumor is treatable, short-term help isn't possible.

Due to these difficult times we know everyone is suffering financially including us, our family has clubbed together as much as possible but we can't help as much as we would like and this breaks our hearts.

We are looking for anything you can spare, no matter how small, to help my sister support her young family and keep her going until she can return to work.

My sister and our family would be forever grateful for your kindness. I will be providing updates on her progress and once the money is raised I will upload the video of her receiving the money so shhhh! Don't tell her! :)
