We are raising money for Early Intervention Aberdeen which is a volunteer led safe space for neurodivergent children and their families. This organisation is lead by Linda Fagan and volunteers which is absolutely amazing they do so much to create lots of inclusive hire of venues and different sessions in the city which has a range off all different play and therapy sessions for neurodivergent children.

As you may know my super star son Felix (grandson to Maureen) has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and at the moment is non speaking, this can be difficult to find places to go which feel safe and inclusive and things that he will enjoy that won’t be too busy and relaxing for us as a family.

We are not alone there are so many families that require the same support and Early Intervention supports us with this, they are absolutely amazing and we have been to so many sessions over the past couple of years. These sessions range from collaborations with local companies, sensory sessions, therapy sessions, play sessions, animal sessions and loads more and they are so well thought out and so enjoyable, many of these families would not be able to experience in the typical setting as it would just be too much for their child. Early intervention we find supports not only the child but also the rest of the family, we find that linking up with families in similar circumstances really helps as you feel they just “get it”.

As this is volunteer run, we need your help to raise money as the government have not given funding as yet for this and it’s so needed. We are walking ‘the mighty stride’ Aberdeen kiltwalk on 1st June this year which is 18 miles we would be grateful for any donations thank you, I have put the link to early intervention website for more information.
