Story
I am Nadia Kalwele, a local resident of Deptford, London. I am a fulltime working mum and in my spare time I am a Mary Kay beauty consultant.
One of the things that makes Mary Kay attractive to me is the 'Beauty that Counts' initiative, which promotes using Mary Kay as a tool for giving back to our local community. This year, in collaboration with my daughter's school (Tidemill Academy), I have chosen to focus on the elderly in my community.
"Alexander Care Home" (London SE4) has over 50 residents and with the festive period around the corner I would like to pay them a visit. During my visit in their home, I will offer a free gifts to each resident, free pampering sessions and a lovely singing performance from the pupils of Tidemill Academy (London SE8).
The elderly are a big part of our society, their actions culminated in giving us the freedom we enjoy today. Unfortunately, those in care homes are often forgotten because of our busy live style so I invite you to join us to put a smile on the faces of the elderly from our community by donating £5 or more to contribute to their gifts.
The gifts we are looking to offer the residents comes to a value of £525 so I REALLY need your help to put that smile back on our elderly faces.
Please help me by donating towards this project.
Thank you for generosity,
Nadia Kalwele,

8 years agoThank you to all that donated for the beauty that count charity event. The donations came up to a total of £499!!! It was a successful event that took place on Monday the 19th December from 4pm till 5.30pm at the Alexander Care Home in SE4. The children, parents and I did hold a performance for the residents of Alexander Care Home in which we did sing 3 Christmas carols. The elderly really enjoyed the performance with a great smile on their faces, some did even sign along! All the 55 presents were successfully distributed!

8 years agoThank you to all that contributed to this charity. I had a successful event last week Thursday 8th December at my work place (NASDAQ) where employees donated a total of £269 towards this cause. We also had great fun wrapping up the gifts that will be donated to the residents of the care home.
