Story
I'm raising £2,000 for Mark Foreman to help pay for private physio and rehabilitation costs.
As many of you know, after returning from a lovely holiday, Mark went to bed with a headache. Just hours later, his wife found him clutching his left arm and speaking incoherently. He was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with a stroke.
The following day, Mark fell out of bed and suffered a second, major stroke. Doctors discovered both a blood clot and a bleed on his brain, causing severe swelling. He was rushed to Queen’s Hospital in Romford, where he underwent an emergency craniotomy to relieve the pressure.
Mark spent six weeks in intensive care on a ventilator and being fed through a tube. He was left paralysed on his left side and faced a long rehabilitation journey, moving from one Rehabilitation Hospital to another for the next 7 months.
Mark had to relearn everything, from sitting and eating to washing himself. He also battled constant infections and the emotional toll of being away from home and family for seven long months.
Now back home, Mark continues to fight every day. He suffers from extreme fatigue and works tirelessly to retrain his brain to do the simplest things we often take for granted.
Brain injury is incredibly complex, but there is hope. Mark’s leg is showing encouraging progress, and with physiotherapy, he has even started taking steps again! 🙌🏻 We continue to pray that one day his arm and hand will recover too.
Mark dreams of drumming again and returning back to work, to the business he worked so hard to build.
Every day is a challenge, but Mark refuses to give up.
Please donate anything you can to support Mark’s ongoing rehabilitation and give him the best possible chance of recovery. ❤️
