I've got quite a few family members who have inspired me throughout my life. One of those people in my life is Ghazaleh, my 36 year old cousin in Iran. My cousins are pretty much like my siblings, and she's like the sister I never had. She has gone through all kinds of trials and tribulations throughout her life in Iran from losing her loving dad at a young age and custody battles over her son.

In 2016, she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She was first misdiagnosed in Iran as having a cyst but it turned out to be several tumors that had aggressively spread. Triple Negative breast cancer is an aggressive, rarer form of breast cancer, with 10-15% of breast cancer patients having TNBC. Ghazaleh has had intensive chemotherapy twice and this devastated her body, though she remained positive throughout. On top of this, she worked full time during her chemotherapy treatment in Iran.

Recently in Iran, the doctors started giving her palliative care. My family and I knew all options had not been exhausted. So this brings us to why I've set up this page. In March 2018, we took Ghazaleh to Anadolu Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. The specialists clarified that it's still treatable given current radiotherapy and genetic therapies available at Anadolu Hospital. I ask anyone if they can donate any amount to help us cover the cost of her treatment - the radiotherapy and genetic treatment is expensive. Even if you can only spare 5 pounds, we appreciate it.

Ghazaleh is a loving person who really brings joy to every person around her and the only older sister I've known. She's also a pro at making wigs look gorgeous. If you can help contribute to this cause, I'd be extremely grateful. She is currently in a lot of pain and will start her treatment on Monday the 25th March 2018, hence the urgency for setting up this page.

Thank you so much for reading this far.

Lots of love,

Nahedeh and the Eqdam Rashti Family
