    Story

    Born out of a frustration over a lack of investment in the well being of all children and young adults.

    Set up in honour of Dené and her commitment to helping others.

    Dené struggled with her mental health from a young age and battled with the triggers and stressors on a daily basis. In August 2016 she asked for professional help through the Adult Mental Health Team.

    She did not get it and was discharged in November 2016.

    On the 21st February 2017, aged 22, she fought her last battle.

    Dené ended the pain...the mental war....and took her own life.

    We believe had Dené got the help she needed, and asked for: consistent, regular support, help in understanding herself and tools for coping with her pain and suicidal urges, then she would still be here today.

    We know she battled hard. We know she wanted to live to raise her son and achieve her ambition of becoming a psychotherapist.

    We also know that the mental health requirements of young adults are not being met.

    We decided to 'build' Nai's House to ensure that young adults are getting the help they need to manage their mental health their way and so that Dené could continue to help people.

    Nai's House has been specifically created around the understanding of the neurological development of young adults and the daily challenges that that alone brings.

    Nai's House will offer - Support for 16-25 year olds experiencing poor mental health and suicidal thoughts and feelings, delivered using our LUSH model, (Living, Understanding, Supporting, Healing).

    * A holistic approach to supporting mental well being

    * Drop in counselling

    * Community prevention project

    * Mental health and suicide prevention and awareness programme to empower participants through creative learning

    * To compliment the work of statutory services and work collaboratively with other agencies to ensure 16-25 year olds with poor mental health are getting the support they need.

      A huge THANK YOU to all you generous people who have supported fundraising events and donated because you believe in what we are doing. It is truly appreciated, thank you. We are currently organising a couple of public presentations locally in Bicester, to introduce our service and to hear the community's thoughts. Funding applications are in and we are in talks with various people to identify premises and collaborate with. For updates and info on events see fb @NaishouseBICESTER. Happy 2019, may it treat you all well.
