In December 2017, 10 students from Denefield school will be attending a trip to Ghana where we will be working with Partner West Africa. In order to fundraise for this trip, we decided to set up a just giving page so that everyone can help make a difference to so many lives. By raising enough money, we will be able to travel to Ghana and make the difference to so many Ghanaian children's lives. Partner West Africa's centre in Ghana has saved many lives and the opportunity to visit and participate in some volunteer work to make the difference is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Some of the work that we will be completing involves working in classrooms at a local school, potentially work experience in hospitals in Ghana and helping to organise and coordinate school events including the annual Christmas Party. If enough funding is available, we may be involved in the creation of a new play area for children which would make an astronomical difference to their lives! Another opportunity to work with young Ghanaian people will involve a visit to some of the poorest areas in Accra (Ghana's capital) where we will be able to deliver clothes and food to those in need. This is also an opportunity to learn about their lives and witness their culture. By raising money for this amazing cause it will allow us to maximise the time that we spend out in Ghana to help as many individuals as possible! The funds raised cover the expenses of our trip and buying the children new school supplies and equipment. Examples of equipment that we will look to buy are: Pencils, paper, colouring books and will also be looking into purchasing sports related goods as we know how crazy about sports the Ghanaian children are.
