Maeve is a happy, sociable, five year old girl. She suffered several cardiac arrests when she was a day old and was left with a severe brain injury which caused cerebral palsy which affects all her limbs and leaves her unable to sit, walk or talk independently, as well as other health issues including epilepsy and dystonia. Despite all this Maeve is a very happy little girl and loves to communicate in her own way. She cognitively understands what we are saying to her and replies yes and no to our questions, we believe she is able to say more and so we’d love her to gain access to speech and language therapy to try and push her further as she has no access to this on the nhs.
