Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
As some of you may know, my father, Doug Smart, co-founded the Naomi Childrens Home with our good friend David Anbu back in 1998. Since then my father, myself and my family have long since helped and supported our friends out in India run the Naomi Children’s Home just outside of Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
Unfortunately, early last year our dear friend David Anbu, co-founder of the orphanage, died in a tragic road accident. David’s sudden death has left behind a massive hole as he was a father figure to the children but has also meant that works to the orphanage, such as the building of new accommodation for the children, has come to a halt.
Our recent trip to India allowed me to see first-hand how best we can focus our support to the children into the future in these changed circumstances. Whilst crucially the children are provided with the basic essentials such as shelter and food, we are looking to fundraise to help the orphanage in the development and improvement of their amenities such as finishing the building of new dorms, providing a safe and clean water supply and ultimately securing the childrens' future through the development of more sustainable living through growing food on-site.
Our relationship with our friends in India is deeply personal and long-standing. We look to continue the late David Anbu’s legacy giving personal and paternal support to his family and the children. That's why we are so keen to kick start the work on the building which will house the children, and give them a new start together. If the children are happy and secure so are we as their extended family.
From all of us here in the UK, and the children and the friends and families helping the orphanage in India, we thank you for any kind donations you can spare.

Naomi this cause reflects so beautifully Your dads heart for others. And his legacy is that his children have the very same heart. Wish it could be more. Hope this buys a few bricks! Xx
