I've raised £5000 to Help treat cancer patients who cannot afford treatment in India.

Losing my grandmother just over 20 months ago has been the most difficult thing in my life to come to terms with. Those of you that remember her will know that she did a lot for those who were less fortunate in life especially in India. Our village was very dear to her and she helped so many individuals and families there. This inspired me to do something in her memory which would help others. Although she did not die from cancer, cancer is very close to me and my family.
February marks the 5th anniversary of me being diagnosed with Cancer. After 15 months of treatment and finally beating this awful disease through chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and Herceptin I was given the all clear. It was not easy and there were days and weeks that I wanted to give up, but that was too easy. With the support of my husband, children, family and friends, I fought hard and got through it.
Bringing both reasons together I decided in my grandmothers memory I would set up and fund a cancer camp in India in our village with the help of Roko Cancer (a charity that helps screen people for cancer in India).I have organised to hold this camp at our village Bishangarh (Bayewal) in Punjab India on Sunday 18th February 2018.
The camp involves mobile buses coming to the village fully equipped with screening equipment, doctors/nurses/radiographers for both male and female patients and they will undertake general health check ups as well as screen for breast/cervical/prostate cancer. Although the camp organised includes the cost of all screening, general health check ups, ECG's, blood tests and general medication, it however does not include the cost of any treatment should any patient be diagnosed with cancer. For this reason I am looking to raise money to help save the lives of those who are less fortunate and cannot bear the expense of cancer treatment which is very expensive in India.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Please donate generously.
