Brujo is a beautiful Hispano arab and has been with me for the entire 16 years of his life. My life was very different when I first had Brujo, i was very fortunate to be financially Solvent back then. How things change!!

Brujo is one of my oldest friends and is my horse through and through, he means a great deal to me. He has been through most of the biggies in my life, through the birth of my children, the loss of my business, financial ruin, break down of my relationship and literally losing everything I owned, including the roof over my head. Throughout I have always fought hammer and tong to hold on to brujo and keep him safe as he's a very gentle, sensitive, intelligent and quirky little soul who doesn't trust many people and could be easily ruined.

When the going got tough and I lost literally everything, all that mattered to me was the wellbeing of my children and my animals. I knew i couldn't afford to keep a horse as i couldn't afford a loaf of bread at that time so i loaned him out to a young event rider who came with professional references.

After 3 years of him being on loan, my circumstances changed a little and i was able to get Brujo back home from loan but his loanee had other ideas and took him into hiding, refusing to give him back. Cue a mammoth road trip to scotland with a horsebox to find brujo. A whole weekend was spent searching for him but all we found was his loanees two horses, he was no where to be found. I thought id lost him but after relentlessly knocking on doors and trapsing through the scottish countryside, i finally got the loanees home address and could start legal proceedings against her. 3 months and some hefty solicitors fees later, brujo was on a box back to me. On his arrival I walked up the ramp of the box to get him. I looked quite different to when he left (my hair was pink at this point and a lot shorter) but as soon as i spoke he stopped in his tracks and rested his head in my chest and sighed a sigh of relief. He returned half the horse that he was when he left me but he was happy to be home! I swore I would never send him away again!

After Brujo's return he became lame and he wasnt sound on a single limb, he also has kissing spines and so he has been retired and a rather beautiful grass ornament these last 3 years. After claiming so much for vets fees for almost every part of his body on his insurance, Brujo was almost not worth insuring as there was so many exclusions on his policy that I wouldn't be able to claim. I decided to no longer insure him. He is happy and well enough to enjoy his days in the field and plays with the other horses and adores the kids And he has a good quality of life despite not being able to be ridden.

This brings me to the end of my very boring story about why I am creating a crowd funder. Brujo has an abscess in the root of his tooth. He needs it extracted as the antibiotics haven't worked and he literally has pus dripping from a hole in his cheek. The vets have quoted me £2000 to extract his tooth and that's if it's easy to get it out. It could be far more 😳 I'm already up to £400 just for the antibiotics and check ups. It feels so wrong to end his life because he has an infected tooth but I can't afford to pay for his extraction and unfortunately his wellbeing comes down to Money. I can't find a way around this! After fighting for years and always finding a way, I'm stumped.

I've looked into loans but have no more disposable income To pay it back. I am currently gathering anything left of any worth that I own and listing it online to sell But it doesn't even come near! I hate asking people for their help but Brujo is more important than my pride! I didn't get a horse knowing I couldn't afford one, I had a horse when i could and despite my life changing enormously, My love for Brujo hasn't! I hope I can raise the money needed and quickly, there is a time restraint obviously as I can't leave him to suffer. I thank you for your time reading this.
