Louise is 29 years old. She is a children's nurse at Alder Hey Children's Hospital on the Neurosurgical ward. After caring for countless patients and families dealing with brain tumours throughout her nursing career, Louise was diagnosed with a Grade 3 astrocytoma in October 2022. Due to the location of the brain tumour it is not possible to surgically remove. She has received radiotherapy and is currently receiving chemotherapy. Unfortunately, once this treatment has finished, there is no further treatment options available on the NHS. We are trying to raise as much funds as possible to help pay for alternative therapies or potential other treatment options available abroad if they are required.
