Story

Thank you for visiting our page.

In September 2016 our worlds were turned upside down when our Mum, Adele, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) at the young age of 44. For those of you who don’t know anything about MND it is a rapidly progressing terminal disease, which causes wastage of muscles and vital organs which eventually leaves sufferers locked  in a failing body unable to move, talk, swallow and breathe. It can affect anyone at any age, and the progression of the disease is unknown. Some patients are fortunate to live for many years with the diagnosis, but for most the timeline is a matter of months.

This disease is slowly taking over my mothers’ body and as of yet there is no cure. This is why we are asking you to help us raise money towards Stem Cell Therapy, which could give my mum the precious time that she currently does not have. There is a growing body of research that suggests Stem Cell Therapy can slow down the progression of this horrible disease. However, such treatments are not cheap and they are not routinely carried out in the UK. We have sourced a clinic in Europe willing to perform this treatment on my mother but the cost is in excess of £20,000.

Stem Cell Therapy is an expensive treatment, it is not a cure, but it is literally the only option we have. Any donations that you make will mean more to my mum and our family than you will ever know.
