Story

Hello everyone :) ..
As many of you may know Alexander has severe brachycephaly (flattened head at the back) as we were unaware of this happening to babies recent recommendations for back-sleeping to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (cot death) are believed to be a major contributor to the flattening of babies’ skulls.
By the time we got an appointment through the Nhs who then went on to tell us it will correct itself .. which it didn't and it never got any better either, I then decided to look into it further and we went to see about the TiM band which is the helmet treatment but unfortunately it was to late to treat and now Alexander has a severe flat head at the back which we are very upset about and wish we had known more about the condition.
When George was born we were vigilant in observing his head, we bought special pillows and mattress in an attempt to reduce the pressure on the back of his head. Again we noticed a flattening, and were informed again that it would correct itself.
Unhappy with this advice, we found a clinic in Leeds “Technology in Motion” https://www.technologyinmotion.com where they assess free of charge the extent of this condition.

George had his scan on Monday and also has been diagnosed with severe brachycephaly and will need a helmet to treat it which will be fitted in two weeks time. With him only being 4 months old it is still possible in fact 97% chance that in four months of wearing a helmet 23 hours a day his head will correct itself back to normal.
we are really upset that this has happened as we did as much as we could to prevent this but unfortunately some babies are more prone to this than others.
with the nhs not funding the helmet which in the U.K. costs £2000 it makes things really difficult for us but We really hope you can help us make this happen for George even a small donation will make a huge difference
thank you
Natalie and Steven

To all our friends and family due to your overwhelming generosity, not just by donating but also by sharing our page,we came to the attention of graham magee and the charity he is involved with, WAFLS. Who do amazing work changing the lives of children with health conditions. We have received a large donation from WAFLS that together with your kind donations to date has meant that we have reached our target and George has today been fitted with his specialist helmet. We can't thank you all and WAFLS enough. You have changed our sons life.
