The Hout Bay Christian Community Association on the 19th October 1996 opened Iziko Lobomi - Centre of Life at Imizamo at Yethu Township in Hout Bay South Africa.

The Centre offers a huge range of support. Their work in education and welfare, just to name a few, help to empower local people. I have been lucky enough to see first hand the amazing work The Centre does and to meet the beautiful people that benefit.

On my last visit this year I met the teachers and children of the play school. The school offers safe, loving, affordable child care for those families who otherwise wouldn't be able to work due to high child care costs. The children are well looked after and very happy when you meet them. Unfortunately, the facilities they have to use are not suitable or safe for children. The floor has huge holes, which are a real danger, and there are very few educational tools and toys. What the centre does have is teachers that love and care for the children. Their passion and dedication shines out of their faces but they are desperate to have a safe environment to teach and look after the children in.

We hope to help fund a new floor to ensure the children are safe. Any money over and above this will enable the centre to invest in toys and educational resources which will help the children thrive.
