Story

As all of you know... Kalvin has brittle asthma and has been in and out of hospital far too many times for me to count. Its that difficult that it has been said for a few years now, that there is nothing else the childrens department can do for him. There has been some really scary times, one of the most recent times being the scariest with him nearly transfered to another hospital and put into an induced coma. (Thankfully the last attempt worked) We are used to the hospital situation but that time REALLY terrified us.
Kalvin is now in the process of going to the adult clinic (he has already been and has had medication changed and dosage upped and I've got a posstive feeling about the future for him).
However before he actually leaves the childrens department I would love to do something to try and show the ward and the medical team how much it really means to us. With all the support, care, compassion and tenderness the team has given us over the years it has made things easier to deal with. The little things like me having the medical teams mobile numbers for me to get advice in an instant has really lifted the weight off my shoulders. Im not sure they know how much that means to us?

So a sponsored skydive is what I shall be doing!! 😁 🛩☁️

The money raised will be shared between Tayside Childrens Asthma Fund and Childrens Ward (ward 29) at Ninewells Hospital.

I have chosen these 2 causes because even people who have children that doesn't have asthma, there is a high chance that your child could end up in ward 29 for other issues too so they will also benefit.

However here is some info...

It is estimated that 72,000 children in Scotland have asthma, which may mean as many as 10,000 children in Tayside are currently receiving treatment for asthma.

Donations will be used to help improve the lives of children who have asthma in Tayside. Many of these children require to be admitted to hospital due to asthma attacks, and also require blood tests to check for side effects of the high dose treatments. We keep some small gifts, as a reward for children who are brave in the hospital aswell as other things like christmas and easter, which helps to put a positive slant on a procedure that can be very upsetting.

Some children require to attend different hospitals for tests such as a bronchoscopy. Some money can be used to help families with expenses staying away from home for a night.

The children's ward has a room for adolescents with a pool table and other games suitable for this age group, aswell as ipads, board games, playroom, and expensive computer systems. Donation could be used to purchase up to date games, pens, colouring books, tvs, dvds etc for this area.

My skydive has been fully paid for, some EVERY PENNY RAISED will be split 50-50 between the 2 causes.

Anything helps.
