Mareme has only been dancing for 15 months at the Big Dance Company. When she started it was just a hobby, but as time went on it became clear that it was more than that. Dance has given both of the girls the chance to express themselves, to be who they want to be, and to feel, in their own words "free". They spend all their spare time dancing and training. A few months ago, Mareme was selected to go to Los Angeles to represent the U.K. at the Dance Excellence festival (Sanou was too little to audition). Since that moment, she has worked so hard, supported by her sister and her wonderful dance friends, to fundraise for herself. She has held cake sales, done bag-packing and they have busked throughout the summer, dancing for hours in front of crowds of people. At only 9 years old we are so proud of the determination and dedication this has involved. Now Mareme has decided that she is going to dance/walk/skip from Penzance to Mousehole on Saturday 28th October. If you would like to sponsor her she would be eternally grateful for your support.
