Story

About a month ago, by some stroke of luck I was offered a place on the 1 year acting foundation course at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. For me, this is a dream come true and a huge opportunity to progress as a creative performer, especially after 2 years of tough drama school auditions. However, bittersweet is my achievement. The government do not give student or maintenance loans for this course, so I am now facing the challenge of finding £9,250 + living costs on my own.

Sadly, I am not in a position to lean on my parents for full financial support and although I have worked and saved (every penny of which will be going towards me doing this thing), I cannot afford the big stinky fees. So, I am turning to the internet to help me take this important opportunity.

Racking my brains as to how I could crowd fund in a way that didn't make me feel underserving and icky, I had a eureka moment! Maybe my singing could swoon my lovely friends, family and anyone else who's ears are listening... I always posted my tunes to bring some light into your days, so I will use the spare time of my summer to make the sun shine a little brighter and longer. I will post more often on my soundcloud/instagram/youtube and if you like what you hear feel free to donate! Or if you just feel like helping a sista out, I'd so gratefully receive the grotty pennies at the bottom of your wallet.

In short; I'm an actor musician using what I've got to help towards this next bit of my future. This course could open so many doors for me and I would hate for it to be a missed opportunity because of my financial background. The arts should be accessible to all, don't you agree?! I will do my very best to make you all proud and promise to give you a shout out when I finally win a BAFTA.

So if you've got a spare pound hanging about don't go spend it on that creme egg in Morrisons. I'll owe you one + interest when we cross paths in the future.

The biggest thank you possible and tonnes of love x
