Weʼre raising £3,000 to help fund a autism therapy pony.
- 18 days to go
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My 12 year old son was diagnosed last May with high functioning autism and a number of other Neurodevelopmental conditions, but the most challenging is the extremely anxiety.
His extreme anxiety has meant he can no longer attend school, be with friends or go anywhere in public without myself as his carer. This has meant he is isolated and rarely leaves the house. He is now on medication, which will never cure the anxiety but just softener it enough to not have the negative thoughts which on occasion has made him want to harm himself.
I have paid privately for every therapy that is available and im in constant battle with local authorities and mental health teams for support and help.
Well after 18 months of struggling I have finally find a therapy that has turned my son's life around. He started horse riding in January and the results have been amazing. His meltdownson have reduced and anxiety when around the ponies is lowered. The horses and ponies just give him a break from the daily battle with his mental health.
With this in mind I purchased a pony. This beautiful calm young pony I was training to become a autism therapy pony, which could help my son and also use to help other autism children in my local area.
All was going well until our beautiful young pony becames extremely ill and with vets fighting to save her we finally had to make the decision and had to be put to sleep.
As a family we are deverstated especially my autistic son who really doesn't understand. He has lost his best friend and the thing that has kept him going.
So I need help to raise funds to purchase another pony to become another therapy pony. I will be looking into Re homing a rescue pony this time and all donations will be for the rescue pony and the training needed for any pony, which I hope I can use to help many other children too.
