Story
My good friend Callum has been diagnosed osteo-sarcoma - a type of bone cancer which requires aggressive chemotherapy for 7-12 months which includes surgery 10 weeks into his treatment.. The treatment will include a lot of time in hospital requiring support from his Mum and Dad who will have to spend a lot of time away from work. So to raise money to support Callum and his family me, Joe Johnson and Lewis Scotland are going to run the Greater Manchester 10 k on Sunday 20th May 2018 and we would be grateful for any donations. 100% of the money raised will go directly to Callum and his family.
This all came to light as Callum broke his leg during rugby training and the break did not heal. After further tests it was discovered that the reason it did not heal was because he has cancer. Callum has started his treatment and physically the treatment is difficult which is causing him to feel down at times. So it is our job as his best friends to keep him cheered up and support him through the rough times ahead. You may have seen him recently as he has become famous in Warrington as he has made the font cover of the Warrington Guardian. Callum's Rugby League heroes from Warrington Wolves have made visits in hospital and at home (they have also sent video messages including one from Steve Price the Coach). Callum is also acknowledged over the tannoy when he is well enough to attend a Warrington game. This has give Callum and his Mum and Dad and his family a great boost.
Our friend can rely on our support throughout his treatment - we will be there for him!
