I'm raising £1000 to support healthcare in Panama as a global health student

Story

This summer, I'll be travelling to Panama to take part in a medical volunteering placement with Global Brigades. During this time, I'll be working in local clinics alongside doctors and nurses, helping to deliver care to rural communities where access to healthcare is often limited.

Alongside supporting clinical work, I'll also be contributing to research focused on healthcare access and delivery in these settings. This will help me better understand the challenges faced by underserved populations, while gaining valuable experience working in a resource-limited environment.

As a student at UCL Global Business School for Health, this opportunity is especially meaningful. It will allow me to apply what I've learned about global health systems, healthcare innovation, and access to care in a real-world setting, while developing both my clinical insight and understanding of healthcare delivery on a global scale.

The money raised will go towards vital medical supplies for the local hospital, support for healthcare staff, and programme-related costs including accommodation.

Global Brigades works closely with local communities to create sustainable healthcare and development initiatives, aiming to make a lasting impact beyond short-term volunteering.

I would be incredibly grateful for any support and every donation regardless of size, will make a real difference and help contribute to both my development and the ongoing work of local healthcare teams in Panama.

Thank you so much for your support 🇵🇦 💗
