Story
In October this year, Nathan Bushnell, a young volunteer from the YMCA-YWCA here in Cupar will head out to Mombasa in Kenya to attend the World YMCA Accelerator Summit. This is an amazing opportunity - an international event bringing together over 2000 YMCA delegates from across the world.
The summit looks to explore the YMCA Vision 2030 which has themes of a Just World, Community Wellbeing, Sustainable Planet and Meaningful Work. Please click here for further information on the summit.
And we now have more exciting news to share! Gemma, our Cupar Youth Café Co-ordinator will be joining Nathan and the YMCA Scotland delegation too.
Having recently graduated from University of Dundee with a 1st Class BA degree in Community Education, she has now been invited to present her university research paper highlighting our early work here in Cupar implementing Vision 2030. What an opportunity for Gemma – we are thrilled that our work here in Cupar will be shared with the world!
Gemma and the team at the youth café do an amazing job supporting and working with young people from our community. With Gemma and Nathan attending the summit they will bring back so many experiences, new skills and ideas which can only enhance and benefit our work here in the Cupar with local young people.
We are so delighted with the support we have received already from your donations. Thank you so much - we really appreciate your kindness and support.
We continue to fundraise to assist us to cover the costs of our now two delegates.
If you would like to donate to our fund, you can pop your donation into the Y office in the Bonnygate or donate here on our JustGiving page.
Watch out for lots more info and updates on the YMCA YWCA Cupar Facebook page.
