Story

The National Three Peaks Challenge is an event in which participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of England, Scotlandand Wales within 24 hours. The 6 of us will be attempting this challenge on Wednesday 2nd October 2019. We are doing this to raise funds to the Splashing Stars Swimming Charity based in Spondon, Derby. Splashing  Stars  has  been  formed  to  help  children  with  special  needs  learn  a  new  skill,  to  exercise,  but  have  fun  while  doing  it  and  to  gain  confidence  in  their  everyday  lives  as  well  as  in  the  water.

Oliver has a daughter Isabella and nephew Elijah whom both have Autism Spectrum Disorder and the Splashing Stars have enabled individuals like Isabella and Elijah to have a place where they can experience immense joy and happiness whilst learning the essential skill of swimming. Splashing  Stars offers a unique opportunity for children and adults to learn a new skill within an  environment completely suited to them. A place where they can relax  and be themselves all working at their own pace to achieve personal goals. The 1:1 sessions are coducted in a heated private pool and this has a disabled wet-room with an electrical disability changing  bed.

This charity just like the people that use the facility bring so much joy into peoples lives so lets raise as much funding as possible to enable Splashing Stars to enhace the experience even more by purchasing new equipment and accessories.
