Story
My son Jack is 13, a teenager who is fortunate to live in a society & times where life is plentiful, opportunities available, technology makes life easy & we dont really want for anything. I think we can all be a little guilty of taking for granted the privileges we are lucky enough to have each day - especially simple things like a roof over our head, food on the table, clean running water, schools & education for our children giving them freedom to grow & become their own people - our children have never known any different & I’m thankful for that.
This is not the case for many children who live in countries that cannot offer what we have all become accustomed to; I am very proud to be supporting my son in an expedition his school West Hill are organising where they will spend 4 weeks giving back to the disadvantaged communities that are less fortunate than ourselves. They plan to travel to Tanzania, where they will spend 4 weeks travelling around the different villages assisting with the rebuild of classrooms in local schools, repair community houses & toilet blocks and maintain the clean water supplies
This amazing opportunity will give our youth the chance to go & be part of a team to help children of their own age & locals who live a very different life to them. This will be a big adventure for the boys who I believe are very courageous to take on such a challenge for a worthwhile cause which will help to build a better life for many.
West Hill have teamed up with International Camps who are an award winning organisation with over 15 years experience in running successful expeditions of this kind, the students will be fully supported each step of the way
Set to take place in July 2019, Jack will then be 15 & to know that he wants to take part in such a worthy cause makes me a very proud mum.
Im running the Manchester half marathon in May 2018 in aid of the cause!
All donations will be very kindly received & very much appreciated
Thank you xxx
