Part of our task at NCS involves us raising money/awareness for a charity, as a group we decided that EducAid was a charity very close to us and one that we were passionate about. EducAid runs an educational network comprising of free schools, teacher training, and tertiary programmes in Sierra Leone. They provide distinctive, personalised, top-quality, holistic education and support to vulnerable young Sierra Leoneans.


They are a UK registered charity which believes that the education of young men and women is essential to: unlock human potential, overcome poverty, improve well being, build democracy, and that it is the cornerstone of stable development. Their vision is a democratic, dignified and prosperous Sierra Leone, where poverty is eliminated by educated citizens who are able to develop their personal, social and economic well being.


Children in Africa walk 3-4 miles every day to school (that's at least a 6 mile trip everyday), therefore we are planning to do a walk on the 20th of November to raise money to donate to EducAid. We are also looking to raise awareness for EducAid through talks at our own schools and colleges and on our social media pages (@schoolforallNCS on Twitter and @SCHOOLFORALL on Instagram). We are helping EducAid gather school supplies for the schools they support by requesting donations of books and stationary that we can donate to EducAid for them to send to Sierra Leone.
