Quetzal's Breaking the Silence Initiative (QBS) aims to raise awareness about the trauma of childhood sexual abuse and the value of counselling in South Asian communities in Leicester City using a community-based approach.

In 2019, Quetzal supported 300 women aged 16 and over in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.  To raise awareness and funds for Quetzal's vital work, this summer our NCS Changemaker group will be doing a 300 minute walk dedicated to the 300 woman each on their own journey of recovering with Quetzal.

Funds from our sponsored walk will be going towards Quetzal's Crush the Hush with a Brush Mural Project that is currently under development. For this project, Quetzal are working with NCS to paint a mural in Leicester City Centre around the theme of 'Crush the Hush', an ongoing campaign supporting victims of childhood sexual abuse to receive support.
