Story
We're a group of 13 young people taking part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) and have decided to spend 2 weeks of our summer making an positive impact in the Merseyside community. We're choose to concentrate all of our efforts in improving the Al-Ghazali Youth Club and Knowsley Veterans Hub.
On Monday 13th August, we are going to be doing a sponsored walk from Central Liverpool (L1) to the end of Otterspool Promenade (L19) and back to town adding up to a total of around 7.5 miles.
For Tuesday 14th August, we've arranged for an early afternoon cake sale (our cakes are only £1 so you should be there too!), then a football match against the Knowsley Veterans Hub, allowing us to mix with the veterans and learn more about what their experiences serving their country was like and how life was different afterwards.
All of the money that we raise is going to be split evenly between the Al-Ghazali youth club and the Knowsley Veterans Hub.
We chose the Al-Ghazali Youth Club because it's the local club for most of our group, as well as being a place lots of young people go, so, by making a impact there we hope we can make a bigger difference.
