I've raised £300 to Help Dog Samaritans

We are a group of 11 young people based in Bishops Castle who are participating in NCS (National Citizien Service). NCS is a summer programme that aims to develop personal skills and enable a group of young people to complete a charitable project in their local community. As part of our social action week, we have decided to challenge ourselves to a 12 hour hike on Wednesday 16th August, starting in the town of Church Stretton and finishing in Clun. The whole idea is to raise money for the charity Dog Samaritans, which is close to all of our hearts. Dog Samaritans is the rehoming branch of Animal Samaritans Midlands Trust. They are a small local dog rescue based in south Shropshire which has been established for over 25 years and is run almost entirely by unpaid volunteers. As they have no kennels of their own they use commercial boarding kennels located between Bishops Castle and Minsterly for their rescue dogs, as well as foster homes. Donations will be sent to Dogs Samaritans to help those dogs in need, to enable them to have happier and healthier lives.
