Story
Hello everyone, we are raising money and awareness for Wiltshire based mental health charity, Headlight, as part of our participation on the National Citizen Service Programme. We picked this charity as we were all shocked that only 0.3% of NHS funding is put towards mental health. Many of us have also struggled with mental health in the past or know many people that do. Mental health is something that affects the majority of people over their lifetime so we feel that more awareness and money should be made available for this charity in order to help a huge range of people and add to a fantastic cause that can ultimately save lives.
To raise money we have planned a variety of activities and events. Our most notable is from one of our bravest group members, Ethian Cronin, who has volunteered to do a Sponsored Head Shave. Below are the activities our group will be doing over the next two weeks.
Hey, my name is Ethian Cronin and for awareness I will be shaving off all my hair to a Grade 1. I am really excited to do this. My father dealt with mental health issues so I would love to do this for him. I will be posting a live video to Facebook next week! :)
Hey everyone, in order to raise money and spread awareness, we are doing a 12mile charity bike ride. The cycle will begin at Devizes and the journey will end in Trowbridge. We’d very much appreciate any money funded as well as the support for the cycle. We will be cycling on Tuesday 8th August.
We have also planned a cake sale on Wednesday 9th August at Trowbridge market and a pub quiz that will be held on 10th August (more details will follow for these events!)
