Story

NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government funded program which aims to give teenagers from the age of 15-18 a challenge and also to allow them to gain new skills and meet new people. It is a 4-week course with 2 weeks of residential which we spent at Grittleton house (Chippenham) and Buddens Scout Campsite (Poole) where we met our teammates and bonded. For the last 2 weeks of the course we aim to make an impact on our local community. This can include helping in a local communal area as well as fundraising projects where you work alongside a charity to help others through a social action project.

Our team is working with Caenhill Countryside centre in devizes to help disadvantaged young people work on farms and gain life skills to help them in later life. We want to make an Impact on the community so we are going to build a metal working area to help the young people learn in a more natural environment along with raising money for the charity.

Many thanks
