Story

My husband Graham Deakin had the pleasure of playing with the Neath Hockey Club in Rural South Wales and was looking forward to the next season ahead. Sadly, on 26th April 2018, Graham had a fatal heart attack at the age of just 39 and won’t see the next one. Graham provided so many people with help and support throughout his life.

He attended the last AGM where sponsorship of the keepers kit was tabled and Graham was very excited about wanting to be able to do this.

I’m reaching out in Graham’s memory to fulfil this wish because it provided the contact and social life with others he needed to fulfill his own sense of belonging and identity.

Keepers kits can be expensive pieces of kit and are vital for the protection of one of its key members of the team.

Neath Hockey Club is a small club in the heart of Wales and needs a new keepers kit. The hockey club is a vital part of community life, providing health, fitness and social avenues to anyone wishing to join in. Without clubs like these, it is easy to becomme isolated and lonely in such rural surroundings and money to keep these important clubs is hard to gather to maintain them.

Anything you can afford to give will help and would help me and his family in healing with the devastating loss of Graham at such a young and tender age knowing his wish to support his club has been fulfilled.

thank you
