Story

As you are no doubt aware, the Gaza Strip, and it's innocent civilians, are facing horrific death, destruction and starvation, on a daily basis. It is reported that over 60,000 people have been killed, including over 14,000 children. However, the death toll is likely to be far higher than this, with more than 14,000 people missing, and presumed dead, who still lie under the rubble.

It is impossible to explain daily life here in Gaza now. Words do not exist to describe the physical, mental and emotional torment we are forced to endure. The vast majority of us are just simple civilians, who want nothing more than to live our lives as anyone in this world wants, in peace and safety!

My name is Nedal, from North Gaza. I am a Palestinian freelance journalist, who has been reporting on the ground, since the beginning of the war on Gaza. Since the beginning, my family and I have been displaced 8 times!! Desperately searching for a place that is safe from the murderous onslaught of death and destruction. Every time we have been forced to move, being told where we are going is safe, the area we have been moved to has become another sight of relentless aerial and ground based bombardment. Then me, my family, wife and daughter have been forced to flee again from the bombs and bullets. Being displaced with my family 8 times, searching for safety.

After the tragically short-lived ceasefire was announced, my family and I returned on foot to our home in North Gaza. When we arrived, my area looked like it had been hit by a nuclear bomb! 80% of the homes here have been totally destroyed, and my home has been very badly damaged as well. The farmland where we used to grow crops has been totally decimated. Yet still, we still face daily threats to our lives, as the indiscriminate killing continues. My farm and income has been wiped out, and we are forced to live hand to mouth, relying on aid trucks, which all too often are blocked. Because of this, we not only continue to live in fear of our lives, from the bombs and bullets, but also from the severe famine that is only getting worse. Added to that, contagious diseases are now rife here, as we lack basic clean water and sanitation.

I have started this campaign in the hope to get the essential help my family needs, to survive in these dark days.

Please give whatever you can, and help me and my beloved family to get the basic needs to live through this terrible situation.

Yours, with eternal love and gratitude.
