Story
Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my just giving page.
My name is Neil Booth and I am the head of a triathlon group based in Bolton, named Smooth Tri. We are a none profit team who do triathlon to promote health, happiness and friendship in the local area through sport. We help others achieve their goals, anything from running for the first time since school, all the way to completing an ironman!
Now let me tell you about my own personal goal.
Two children that go to the same school as my daughter are currently fighting cancer. They are both very young, 12 and 14 years old and barely started their lives. Being a father myself with a daughter the same age, I find this very saddening.
Kyle Buckley (12) was diagnosed in 2014 with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma and Connor Wood (14) was diagnosed with an aggressive tumour Ewings Sarcoma in his right chest wall. Both children have been receiving treatment however to little success. This has led both families to relocate to Germany (Kyle) and America (Connor) to receive new treatments to try and save these two boys lives, but this is proving very expensive for the families.
I wish to raise money to help support both families through this, so I will be taking on THE DOUBLE BRUTAL TRIATHLON on 16th of September 2017. This is an extreme triathlon which is run by BRUTAL EVENTS, an organisation that is known for creating some of the toughest races in the world. The triathlon consists of a 4.8 mile swim in lake Padarn (Wales) a 224 mile cycle around the snowdonia mountain range, followed by a 52 mile run, which includes An ascent and descent of Snowdon (Wales highest mountain). Claire the owner of BRUTAL EVENTS has already given me the entry fee for half price and donated the other half to towards the £1000 I wish to raise. So with a heavy heart I ask others to help donate what they can so we can give these boys a chance at life. I am fortunate enough to have my health, so I will use it to help these boys regain there's.
