Story

I'm raising £10,000

On the 7th September 2024 my son Alex tragically drowned at scotsmans flash in wigan at just 15 years old. Myself and my wife have now started campaigning for water safety and raising awareness of the dangers of open water when used incorrectly. Where Alex entered the water there are no danger signs or any life saving equipment along the stretch of water on the canal side at the flash, this is a hotspot in warmer weather with children aswel as adults as it looks so inviting but there are no warnings making people aware of the dangers and the depth these waters go to, this has given us focus to do something about this, starting at scotsmans flash and then looking at other bodies of open waters . Please if you could help us to raise funds and awareness, we are also going to be doing fundraising ourselves and other parties.
