I've raised £1631 to raise funds for WHO & for United Way COVID Response Funds

I will attempt 4 marathons in June 2020 for WHO & for United Way because of their COVID Response Funds
The world has been social distancing this year, holding ourselves and others accountable for health and safety. I have been inspired by Captain Tom Moore in the UK who’s goal was to walk 100 lengths of his garden by his 100th birthday on 30th April.
Having previously run a marathon and completed the Caledonian Challenge (54 miles in 24 hours - finishing in 16 hours ahead of SAS trainees) my stretch goal is to complete 4 marathons in 4 consecutive weekends in June 2020. I will be doing 4 laps of London’s Hyde Park observing social distancing at least 2 meters apart, the first of which on 6th June 2020.
The objective of raising awareness of mental health by key results - typically involving an extraordinary effort such as a marathon, is spiced up by the stretch goal of 4 times! The world is sufficiently static enabling my recovery - timing is everything!
Whilst I acknowledge the £32.7 million raised by Captain Tom Moore is slightly out of my reach (he finished with 6559% of his target!) I am setting a stretch fund raising target of £10,000.
Funds will be equally shared between COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organisation and United Way Worldwide.
This is also an acknowledgment of the exceptional services provided by NHS mental health helplines specifically including charity mind.org.uk who will benefit from COVID-19 fundraising.
The world has never faced a crisis like COVID-19. The pandemic is impacting communities everywhere. It’s never been more urgent to support the global response, led by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Donations support WHO’s work, including with partners, to track and understand the spread of the virus; to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information; and to accelerate research and development of a vaccine and treatments for all who need them.
United Way advances the common good in communities across the world. Our focus is on education, income and health—the building blocks for a good quality of life. There are nearly 1,800 local United Ways around the world.
Some donations also support Fund partners UNICEF, for its work on COVID-19 among vulnerable communities including children, and the vaccine development alliance CEPI.
Donations to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization are powered by the United Nations Foundation.
