I'm raising £1000 to Support Lexi, Mia and their families

Story

“Chitty in Pink” fundraiser was created in response to the very difficult few months the Princes Youth Theatre family has had. During this time, two of our much-loved members, Lexi and Mia, have become seriously unwell and are facing incredibly challenging journeys. If you are able to contribute, donations will go directly towards supporting their families with travel, accommodation and the ongoing challenges ahead.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.

A week before Christmas, we received the devastating news that Lexi, one of our incredibly talented performers, had suffered a stroke followed by two cardiac arrests.

At just 14 years old, Lexi has been in paediatric intensive care at Addenbrooke’s Hospital ever since. Her recovery journey will be a long and challenging one, and throughout this time her family have remained constantly by her side, travelling back and forth to Cambridge. This has, understandably, been an incredibly difficult period for them all.

Lexi is a bright, passionate and dedicated performer who loves singing, dancing and being part of our Youth Theatre community. She would have been performing in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with us, doing what she loves most.

Also just before Christmas, 12-year-old Mia, who is one of our much-loved Youth Theatre members, was diagnosed with a very rare form of lymphoma—so rare that even a specialist cancer centre has not seen a case like hers in four years.

Being part of the Youth Theatre is one of the things that brings Mia the most joy, and her passion for performing shines through in everything she does.

Despite everything she is facing, Mia continues to show incredible determination, resilience and bravery. She has even attended Chitty Chitty Bang Bang rehearsals in between her treatments at Addenbrooke’s, determined to remain part of the Theatre she loves so much.
