I've raised £2000 to help fund Nellie's life-changing hip operation.

In November 2017, Nellie (at just 5 months old) was brought over from Romania to the UK and rescued by Barney's Animal Rescue. She was found as a stray on the streets and living in freezing conditions as she counted down the days until the shelter inevitably put her down.
Thankfully, funds were raised by the kind supporters of Barney's Animal Rescue to bring her to the UK to start a new life with a new family. We thought her legs were a little weary from the long bus journey to the UK, but unfortunately it seemed that Nellie had much more serious problems.
After x-rays, scans and tests, we found out she had some healed fractures to her hip, leg and pelvis, possibly from abuse sustained as a puppy on the streets of Romania. Although the leg and pelvis fractures are quite serious, they shouldn't affect her life.
The specialist has recommended femoral head and neck excision arthroplasty on her hip joint though, to give her the movement she needs to run and play like a normal puppy without experiencing increased pain and discomfort as she grows older.
Unfortunately this doesn't come cheap and as a rescue puppy, there's no insurance to cover any of the costs. With your help, we're looking to raise £2000 for Nellie's life-changing hip operation to give her the quality of life she deserves.
