I've raised £15000 to 1300KM Walk Across Serbia For Marta Funds will be used to provide a new house for Marta and her family

1300KM Walk Across Serbia for Marta
I will be walking 1300km across the whole of Serbia for Marta, a resilient 13 year old girl who is caring for her parents and younger siblings because her parents are ill. I found about her through the organization Serbs for Serbs after which I chose to her to be the cause I will walk across Serbia for. They live in a house made from mud with no electricity.
I will be setting off from Kelebija, Serbia's northern border with Hungary and zig zagging through 20 cities, with the final and finishing city being Nis, where I currently reside.
What really got to me emotionally was hearing that her only wish is to have a safe space to study so that she doesn't fall behind in school. She currently studies beneath her blanket as the winters in Serbia are gruelling.
The reason I chose winter is to show how willing I am to put my comfort aside to empower and be of service to those who have to put themselves through the paces because that is there only way to get through each day and it brings tears to my eyes to see that happen. Having fought my own battle with mental health, addiction and trauma, I want to do all I can to ensure that this girl and her family overcome this obstacle in hope of a better, happier and safer life.
My goal is to complete this walk in 30 days with the hope of raising enough funds that will get passed on to Serbs for Serbs so that we can help Marta as quickly as possible
