Story

On the 8th September 2018 a Medway Netball Team, the Pink Panthers, joined by the CEO Rhiannon Singleton of Foundations Supporting Families will be taking part in Rough Runner. A 5km Obstacle Course in Finsbury Park, London.

The Pink Panthers, comprising of Helen, Donna, Leesa, Lesley, Jenny, Mo, Claire, Steph, Julie, Carley and Aprille hope to see Netball in Medway receive more recognition. The sport is fun, competitive and suitable for all ages, from 9-90, with walking netball increasing in popularity. The Pink Panthers players are some of the oldest competing in the Medway Netball League, they have been playing as a team for ten years starting in Division 4 and are now being promoted to the Intermediate Division following an incredible season in Division 1.

Unfortunately the Medway Netball League is not a charity, and it was agreed that Pink Panthers would like to raise funds for a worthwhile cause. Their chosen Local Charity being Foundations Supporting Families Contact Centre.

Foundations: Supporting Families is a small Charity based in Chatham. It provides a safe environment for children to see their parents and other extended family members following family breakdown. Breakdown may be from separation and divorce, or risk of abuse through parental conflict, drug and alcohol misuse or domestic abuse. The Centre which receives no Government funding offers support, in a safe environment, staff support all involved in moving forward, and works closely with other organisations to ensure children’s safety. All funds raised will go to support the Charities' worthwhile work.
